PML-Q MPA and deputy parliamentary leader in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly, Nighat Yasmin Orakzai on Tuesday quitted her party and formally announced joining the ruling PPP. Speaking at a news conference, the PML-Q lone female lawmaker in KP Assembly Nighat Orakzaii said that she has joined PPP without any condition and would work as its worker.

She said that she had no complaints from the central leadership of PML-Q, but the provincial leaders have been constantly creating hurdles in her way, that forced her to quit. Nighat Orakzai, who has also worked as the provincial secretary information of PML-Q said that the mainstream political parties had contacted her after resignation from PML-Q, but she decided to join the PPP keeping in view meritorious sacrifices by Bhutto family for democracy and rights of people and its progressive and people welfare agenda.

The ruling PPP is popular democratic party and its leadership had rendered great sacrifices for democracy and people rights and expressed full confidence in the PPP central and provincial leadership and assured full support to them.

Welcoming Nighat Orkzai into the party fold, KP PPP President, Anwar Saifullah Khan said his party's political graph and popularity has increased manifold in KP and people from cross sections of the society are joining it. He said joining of Nighat Orakzai will further strengthen the party in KP. Besides others, Deputy Speaker in National Assembly, Faisal Kairm Kundi, Excise and Taxation Minister, Liaquat Shabab and office-bearers of KP PPP and provincial ministers belonging to PPP were also present on this occasion.
